シャーク湾
オーストラリア大陸の西 南北200キロ、東西100キロにも及ぶ広大な湾が世界遺産となっている
地球上で最古の生命体のひとつ、およそ35年前に誕生し地球で初めて光合成を行い酸素を作り出したといわれる一見岩のような生命体「ストロマトライト」が群生する世界でも類を見ない地域
この湾には、世界最大の海草の大草原があり、その海草を食べるジュゴンが1万頭も暮らしている
